The Tour de Plantersville offers metric century 62-mile, 25-mile, and 12-mile ride options through the natural setting of Plantersville South Carolina. The workshop will begin with an introduction to SEO and an overview of how search engines work and the different ranking factors that are taken into account. Alice Ravenel Huger Smith (1876-1958), a leader of the Charleston Renaissance, immortalized the beauty and history of the Carolina Lowcountry and helped propel the region into an important destination for cultural tourism. Now a retired pharmacist who graduated from Clemson University and The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, Brown’s historical fiction is based on an actual event that occurred in Williamsburg County, S.C., in the year 1870. For 13 years, Cindy Hedrick and soulmate Skip Yeager (owners of Sweetie’s on Front Street in Georgetown) operated an exotic animal sanctuary on acreage outside Georgetown. Island Shops at Downtown Pawleys and the American Red Cross are asking for the community’s help to meet a critical need for blood.

The two groups are hosting a blood drive Wednesday, March 31st at the Island Shops at Downtown Pawleys, located 10659 Ocean Hwy, Pawleys Island. People can donate blood from noon to 5 p.m.  

"Winter weather and COVID-19 have dramatically decreased donor turnout at many blood drives. Donations are critically needed for thousands of patients to receive necessary, life-saving treatments."

In anticipation of increased bicycle and pedestrian activity on Waverly Road (approved by the county for the next paving project to widen the bike path) and with acknowledgment of how long these projects take, we are returning the “Adopt-a-Path” efforts to pick up litter, trim overhanging vines, and clear the sidewalk of vegetation overgrowth. Volunteers should wear sturdy footgear (it’s mucky out there), long pants and sleeves (protection against kudzu thorns and poison ivy), bring gloves and gripper prongs (if you have ‘em).
